Computer Science and the Cell
Computing Cells
Animals are made of cells. Computers are made of electronics. Not much similarity there. Maybe computer scientists and cell biologists can still learn a lot from each other, though. With the rise of Nanotechnoogy cell sized machines may soon be at work inside our bodies. There are far less futuristic links though.
Computer Science techniques can help explore how cells work. Similarly, as biologists solve the mysteries of brain cells, their results help computer scientists create machines that 'think' the way we do.
If cells fascinate you and you want to find out more on their biological side rather than our computer science twist here, why not visit The Centre of the Cell website.
